LOCKLAND, Ohio – It was homecoming in Lockland, and the hometown Panthers weren’t about to disappoint the small, but loyal crowd that showed up on a Saturday afternoon.

It didn’t hurt that the opponent was the Clark Montessori (Cincinnati, OH) Cougars, one of the nation’s worst teams ranked in the 14,000’s on MaxPreps.com, and Lockland made it look easy in a 39-6 romp.

In all fairness to Clark, however, it was only 8-6 in Lockland’s favor at the half as the onslaught didn’t start until the third quarter when the hosts outscored their visitors 24-0. By the time the fourth quarter kicked off, Lockland was up 32-6 and well on its way to a victory on homecoming.

The win gets the Panthers back .500 at 3-3 overall while Clark falls to 1-5 with the loss.

Lockland should get another shot at an easy victory Friday night when they head to Hamilton, Ohio, to take on the 1-5 New Miami Vikings.

Clark Montessori, meanwhile, will stick to a Saturday schedule when they host the Dayton (OH) Christian Warriors who enter the evening contest with a 5-1 record.
