Laval No. 1 in CFA Yearbook’s U Sports Preseason Top 10

Laval’s Stade TELUS is home of the Rouge et Or, Canada’s top college football program.

Laval, the defending U Sports national champion, is No. 1 in the College Football America U Sports preseason Top 10.

Laval, which has won nine Vanier Cups, returns three players on the CFA U Sports Starting Lineup, the publication’s version of an All-Canada team — defensive linemen Mathieu Betts and Vincent Desjardins and offensive lineman Samuel Lefebvre.

Calgary is No. 2, led by linebacker Boston Rowe and offensive lineman Ryan Sceviour, who are also Starting Lineup selections. Laurier, which reached the Uteck Bowl a year ago, is No. 3 and boasts the return of defensive back Godfrey Onyeka. No. 4 UBC and No. 5 Western round out the Top 5.

The remainder of the Top 10 includes No. 6 Montreal, No. 7 StFX, No. 8 Mount Allison, No. 9 Regina and No. 10 Carleton.
