EMCC No. 1 in CFA Yearbook’s Juco Preseason Top 30

East Mississippi Community College is No. 1 in the College Football America 2017 Yearbook Juco Top 30, a combination of teams in the NJCAA and CCCAA.

The Lions, a perennial juco power and the subject of the Netflix documentary “Last Chance U,” reached No. 3 in the national rankings by the end of last regular season.

Three of the next four teams in the CFA rankings hail from California. No. 2 Butte, No. 4 CCSF and No. 5 Mt. San Antonio have all won CCCAA state titles since 2007. No. 3 Garden City is the defending NJCAA national champion after a Cinderella season that saw them capture the national title by beating Arizona Western on its own home field in the El Toro Bowl.

Western is also ranked checking in at No. 7 while the remainder of the Top 10 includes No. 6 Fullerton, No. 8 Northwest Mississippi, No. 9 American River and No. 10 Trinity Valley.

Riverside leads the next group of teams in the rankings at No. 11, followed by No. 12 Navarro, No. 13 Modesto, No. 14 Saddleback, No. 15 Mesa, No. 16 Long Beach City, No. 17 Holmes, No. 18 Northeast Mississippi, No. 19 Ventura and No. 20 Kilgore.

Rounding out the Top 30 is No. 21 San Mateo, No. 22 Lackawanna, No. 23 Santa Rosa, No. 24 Laney, No. 25 Central Lakes, No. 26 Bakersfield, No. 27 Eastern Arizona, No. 28 Los Angeles Valley, No. 29 Georgia Military and No. 30 Louisburg.

The College Football America 2017 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada over the course of more than 300 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. Additionally, an iBooks version for iPads and iPhones is available through Apple’s iTunes bookstore and the iBooks app. And, new this year, a Kindle version of the book is now available.
