College Football America announces its 2017 Division II Starting Lineup

Two seniors from LIU Post and a senior from North Alabama lead the College Football America 2017 Yearbook Division II Starting Lineup, CFA’s version of an All-America team.

LIU Post offensive lineman Joseph Lacey and defensive back Jared Chester both earned spots on this year’s squad. The Pioneers finished 12-1 last season with its only loss suffered at the hands of Shepherd, 40-21, in the second round of the playoffs.

Lacey started all 13 games and was one of the top left tackles in Division II last season, while Chester led LIU Post in tackles with 78 and had a whopping seven interceptions.

North Alabama placed wide receiver Dre Hall on the team. UNA is coming off a huge season that saw the Lions finish 11-2 and advance all the way to the Division II Championship Game. Juggernaut Northwest Missouri State knocked off UNA, 29-3, for its 30th straight victory.

Hall had 80 catches for 1,179 yards and nine touchdowns last season.

Humboldt State offensive lineman Alex Cappa is the lone returning First-Team AFCA All-American and member of the 2016 CFA Starting Lineup on this year’s team. The senior left tackle from Dublin, Calif., has played in 33 games the last three seasons for the Lumberjacks.

Sioux Falls senior running back Max Mickey, MSU-Moorhead wide receiver Damon Gibson and Ferris State junior defensive lineman Zach Sieler were all second-team AFCA All-Americans in 2016.

The College Football America 2017 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada over the course of more than 300 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. Additionally, an iBooks version for iPads and iPhones is available through Apple’s iTunes bookstore and the iBooks app. And, new this year, a Kindle version of the book is now available.
