February 20 in American Football History

1892 – The first game in Auburn history is played as the Tigers defeat the Georgia Bulldogs, playing in just their second game, 10-0 at Piedmont Park near downtown Atlanta. The rivalry is still staged annually and is known as the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

1912 – College Football Hall of Fame tackle Whitey Wistert of Michigan is born.
