Biography

Daniel Carlson was the nation’s top-ranked kicker coming out of The Classical Academy (Colorado Springs, CO) in the spring of 2013. After redshirting that fall, he took over the kicking and punting duties for the defending SEC champion Auburn Tigers as a redshirt freshman in 2014. He also handled kickoffs becoming the first Tiger specialist to handle all three duties since Damon Duval left after the 2002 season.

In 2015, he broke a couple of school records including a streak of 14 straight field goals that included two 52-yarders. He had two more kicks over 50 yards including a career-high 56-yard boot in the season opener against Louisville setting another school record for most field goals over 50 yards in a season. For his efforts, he was named a Lou Groza Award finalist losing out to UCLA’s Ka’imi Fairbairn in the final vote.
